Comment: Hi I live in Quincy California and have a spare room for some one to stay the night in. They would need to find a ride from either bucks lake or Belden, ca into Quincy.
Drakesbad is open to hikers and seems this year, with new management, is more hiker friendly than with the last managers.
I saw this information online and asked Piper’s Mom if I could post it up here and so here it is: Hope this helps you along your hike!
“Drakesbad is open to hikers and seems this year, with new management, is more hiker friendly than with the last managers. Breakfast and lunch are about $12-14. There is a special hiker dinner for about $14 and you do not need reservations. If you want the 5-star menu it is about $22 and reservations are required. There is no laundry, being renovated. Do your laundry in Chester. There is a new shower for hikers only and pool use will be considered on a hiker-by-hiker basis. All of this is from my memory because I am away from my information, but it’s close. Good luck, it’s a wonderful place.

Deposits:
A 50% deposit is required within 7 days of booking to hold your reservation. The balance is due 30 calendar days in advance of arrival date. Reservations made within 30 days of arrival date are payable in full.
Cancellations & Refunds:
- If a reservation is cancelled more than 30 days before arrival date, a full refund will be given, less a $25.00 service charge.
- If cancelled less than 30 days before arrival date, no refund will be given unless we can rebook your space.
- No refunds are given for weather condition, road condition, early departure, or other elements beyond our control.
House Policies:
- Check in after 4:00 p.m.

To Get There:
From US 395 take Hwy 203 about 3 miles to the town of Mammoth Lakes and on Hwy 203 (Main St.) go through the three traffic lights, past Minaret Road (Where Main St. changes its name to Lake Mary Road); go 3/4 mile up Lake Mary Road, past the turn off to Canyon Lodge Skit are, and turn right on Davison. The Tuest House is at 19 Davison and is the first building on the left.
